Since 1982, Parkway Administrator Joe Okruhlica has built a reliable, stable staff. The 25 individuals in core leadership positions have over 400 years of combined experience at Parkway. This continuity makes a difference and is why we have a long history of excellent surveys and reputation. The key to our success is based on employee stability.
Parkway employs a nursing department of more than 150 including RN’s, LPN’s, CMT’s, and C.N.A.’s. Our nursing staff meet the highest standards for professional competence and compassion coupled with gentleness and warmth. Many of our nurses have worked at Parkway for over 25 years.
One such nurse is Mary Lou Sweeney LPN who joined Parkway in 1984. Mary Lou has held several positions while at Parkway and is currently serving as Compliance Officer. In other words, Mary Lou provides checks and balances to ensure all systems are in place so we may continue to provide the best care possible for our patients. Mary Lou is a fabulous cook and has brought in many a delicious treat for fellow staff and residents alike.
Our very own Bernice Elliott has recently been honored with the renaming of our dining room, “The Bernice Elliott Dining Hall.” Bernice worked in the dietary department for 37 years and has cooked over 18,000 meals.
