When you choose a facility for long-term medical care and therapy, it’s a big decision – one that should be made with care. Parkway Rehabilitation and Nursing Center offers a total care environment, dedicated to meeting the patient’s needs on many levels: medical, therapeutic and social. Under the attending physician’s supervision, Parkway’s professional staff works together to design and carry out a comprehensive care program structured to meet each patient’s unique requirements. The heart of Parkway’s health care system is our large staff of dedicated nursing personnel. Responsible people are responsive to your needs. Parkway’s nursing staff meet the highest standards for professional competence and compassion. Our staff is trained to combine their knowledge and skills with gentleness and warmth as we care for subacute rehabilitation patients as well as our elder population. Nurses stay at Parkway because they have a high degree of job satisfaction and commitment. At Parkway nurses get to do nursing.
Parkway Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is dedicated to your health care. A thoroughly professional health care team is vital to your well-being. Our Medical Director, Kitty Henry MD, is involved at every level of facility functioning. Medical care is under the supervision of each resident’s personal physician. Patients who do not have a personal doctor, or whose physician is not available, can be referred to one of Parkway’s house physicians who specialize in subacute, rehab and geriatric care. A doctor is on call around the clock for emergencies. Key specialists work with the medical staff to carry out your doctor’s orders and speed your recovery.
Physical therapy has proven to be a major force in rehabilitation for many types of illnesses and injuries; Parkway offers one of the most expansive and well-equipped physical speech and occupational therapy departments of any long-term care facility in the county.
X-ray and Lab services are available daily at Parkway eliminating the expense and strain of sending patients to a hospital for these services. A pharmacy specializing in long-term and subacute care provides all the medications prescribed for our patients. In line with the Parkway philosophy of caring for the total person, social services are available in addition to medical and therapeutic care. A licensed staff social worker can help ease the adjustment to Parkway for both the patient and the family, and is always willing to help with questions or problems.
